Not a moment’s rest

Sophia had a pretty busy day today. We started off with a trip to the doctor’s office. Her doctor wanted to see her again since her temperature is still hovering around 100 (that’s 3 1/2 weeks now of elevated temperature) and she was vomiting again yesterday. The doc is perplexed as there are no signs of anything really wrong with her and thought maybe she is just getting a little irritation in her upper airway from spitting up so frequently. She also wants us to keep an eye on a suspicious looking spot on Sophia’s heart surgery scar, which she thought might be a stitch coming through (which is normal but could lead to an infection).

By the time we got back home, it was time for her lunch and she was pretty upset throughout the whole ordeal. I normally sit in this big plush chair with Sophia on my lap while I feed her, but she wasn’t having any of that. The only way she would stop crying was if I walked around while feeding her (which is what her mother normally does), hopefully this won’t be the start of a trend.

Shortly after Sophia fell asleep, Deb got home for Sophia’s OT session and the doorbell rang waking Sophia up. I think she got enough of a cat nap because she was in pretty good spirits and did really well during her “workout” and even made her very first tree ornament. Deb and the therapist squeezed some glue onto a pine cone and put it in a ziploc bag with some glitter. Sophia then had fun shaking the bag until the cone was well covered. She seemed to have a lot of fun and did really well during the session (she refrained from urping all over the therapist this time) and learned some fun new songs (ok, so we learned some fun new songs).
